Faith-Based Healthcare That Puts People Over Profit
Are you a Christian looking for a nontraditional healthcare option? Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHM) lets you choose your own doctors and shares the cost with an entire community.
How Does Christian Healthcare Ministries Work?
With Christian Healthcare Ministries, each member of the health sharing plan pays a monthly contribution. Part of those contributions are set aside to help fellow plan participants with their bills. So, when you get a medical bill, you pay it yourself. Then you submit your bill to Christian Healthcare Ministries to confirm that it’s eligible for sharing. Once it’s approved, you’ll receive reimbursement for the covered portion of your bill.

What Is Cost Sharing?
Traditional health cost sharing is the portion of your medical bill the insurance company shares with you after you meet your own out-of-pocket payment responsibilities (deductibles, coinsurance and copays). Then, depending on your coinsurance split, they’ll kick in a partial payment for your health care bill.
There’s also a new way of sharing health care costs that’s cheaper and simpler. It’s called health sharing or health cost sharing. Health share plans are like cooperatives where members share a portion of each other’s medical costs.
We’ll dive deeper into both types of health cost sharing and then talk about how the new kind can benefit you.
